Back online!

It has been hell being without internet for six months..
In the meantime, things have changed.. as soon as I got back online, all the programs updated.. Some were not improvements., iTunes , especially, was ruined..
So bad in fact, that I went on a search or alternate audio players. Never found another cataloging app that didn't suck, but I DID discover a mind blowing player - Audirvana.. I have NEVER heard digital audio this good...I cant get enough.. I am currently listening to all my BB King stuff and it is incredible!

This is an astounding album.. and it is such a shame that it is the only one that has NEVER been reissued on CD. Nor have the two standout tracks on it, one of which is the studio rendition of "World In Harmony". Although other takes have since come out, this is by far the best one.. The second is "Purple Dancer".. and the back story is pretty much the same. Other takes have surfaced.. mostly live however.. but this is the superior one by far. Both of these tracks came out only on singles, until they appeared on this German compilation in 1972..

 I got lucky finding a pristine tape source.. Judge for yourself if you don't think it is the under-appreciated gem that I think it is. As it is out of print in any format, and at this late stage, likely to remain that way, I don't expect many chances to hear it come up...

 Furthermore, i am officially going to add music downloads also, soon.. (no commercially sensitive stuff, but rather, quality bootlegs, and choice unavailable rare tracks.. ) Now,  officially, I am turning this into a "truth and music" blog.. meaning, you are just as likely to get a rock and roll post, "my music" post, a "collectors corner", or a "current events" post..
As a musician myself., the last thing I want to do is cou off someone's meal ticket.. but, if you as a musicvian, see anything here that gets your goat, pleez don't do the official "complaint" BS, JUST ASK ME!!!!! , and I will accede to your request..  OK?
There are people that do complaints for fun, though, which is why I have been hesitant to post before..

 Also, change of subject.. Watching the news today.. TONS of car accidents today from the first rain in half a year.. WOW!
110 millimeters? WHOA..  no rain since May (our really cool lightning st0rm) and our rivers are all dried up.. considering we get ALL our power from Hydroelectric.. also a "strong" wind warning of 110 kph ( everywhere else they call it a hurricane ;-) we cal them "gales"

 That's life on the extreme west coast.. hyuk!

PS WOW it's SNOWING in Australia!!!!! It is almost SUMMER THERE!!!!

A repost of the Foghat demos..

Seems it was Google who deleted all my tunes.. apparently they retired the old google player and didn't bother to tell anyone ;-) So here's a repost of my repost ;-) with the new player... Thought i'd just repost this as i've been ill and haven't been able to do much with this blog for a while..

In an attempt to throw my hat into the ring for a possibility of getting a gig with Foghat i made a couple demos.. sent them into what i thought was the only Foghat.. i had no idea that there was gonna be TWO Foghats after the dust settled (but not for long, either).. so i don't know if they even got this... But here they are.. I did post em much earlier, but they're remixed and cleaned up..keep in mind they're 20 years old , and on ferric  tapes (it's all i had left).. P.S. For best results have a good stiff drink and crank it LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!
 I've removed it for the moment because I just discovered that all my auddio is disabled and simply downloads all the audio to whoever opens the page. Not intended. That is Google's fault.. not mine.

Missing music?

Well, it looks like somebody has attacked my blog ;-(
 ALL the music posts are gone.. or more correctly, all my links with the google player are gone.. when checking my page to see what was up, i noticed that they had been erased from the HTML script.. Now who would go and do a thing like that?

OK i spent several HOURS trying to find Bill Doggett Junior's post on YT where he replied to me on a comment.. I seem to have misplaced it, so if he sees this, I'm asking him here , now, if he minds I post this

.. It's important because likely only diehard JB fans, or perhaps King records fans (i am a Freddy King diehard, which is where I learnt about Bill Doggett) would even know about this.... See, it may be seriously obscure, but it will show how "hip" this old cat was .. he weren't "old" , ever!

Here's a new site I joined.. after "Audiocandy" bit the dust..
 If you never visited  Audiocandy, it was a real cool site.. I got to share a website with Fleetwood Mac's Bob Welch, Jethro Tull and Blodwyn Pig's Mick Abrahams, Billy Sherwood (Yes, etc) and a whole lot of other HUGE profile artists.. I was very proud to have been allowed to associate with these artists, and the management of the site were even my biggest fans (some connections last till today, even)..
 However, the site, after well over a decade, bit the dust..
A lot of these guys are gone now, too.. most notably Fleetwood Mac's Bob Welch (unfortunately, by suicide.. if you pray, please pray for his soul)..
 But..........
 Somehow, I got hooked up with what appears to be one of the most.. er.. "hip" (OK so I'm old) websites.. called "soundcloud" .. and at the very same time, I got access to the digital master tapes of "The Catch".. so, I put 2 and 2 together..
 I am carefully uploading only one tune per month.. but anyone can listen, and even download my 320 KB files..
 Check it out.. more and more name artists are joining every day...

 PS If you are a SERIOUS collector, especially regarding rare formats (in my case , cassettes) You OWE it to yourself to check out my CASSETTE COLLECTORS LIBRARY.. just recently, I uploaded all the Steve Miller releases, as FIRST ISSUES (that is, from 1968) on cassette.. mint, too.... and of course, I have all the Capitol oval logo tapes , mint.. and more every day....

Our little town has the most progressive TV station in the world!!!

No shit.. maybe it's a mistake.. which is why I haven't written them to say thank you.. but ONE DAY!!!  after I wrote them saying I don't even have a TV anymore, and I would really like if they would do what other TV stations do, and rebroadcast selected TV shows on their website, they changed their website and all day have been airing their channel LIVE!!!!..
 Now, normally, they only run their news live, at 12, 5 and 10 PM..  but I opened up their site ands saw a newly arranged web page with a notice on top " only show live news at 5 and 10.. OK, but normally they have the news you can rerun.. but.. er.. nope.. instead, they were running the 630 news live, and now they're running wheel of fortune..  I don't like that show, but fact is it's LIVE.. and I am so interested to see how far it will go.. at 8 is the original Twilight Zone, then I think "The Supernatural"..
 But HERE'S the clincher.. There are NO other stations, worldwide , currently, that are airing all their TV programming live, on the internet.. and my lil' ole town is the very FIRST!!!!!!!
 Maybe it's because aint no fat cats own the station.. it's owned by it's employees..
 OK, i know in a small town, it is possible for a station to selectively broadcast to individual IP addresses, but I really don't think they have the tech to do this.. and it must be an incredible coincidence that the day after I ask them to air their TV programming on the internet, that they do so (unless John, my old ex's ex, who works there, recognized who I am, and felt generous)..
 I mean, wudda coincidence!!!

 But.. Right now.. WE WERE FIRST TO DO THIS.. EAT DIRT all you other Big City stations ;-) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The long lost "The Catch" album HERE!

But it's rare..It was a "World Beat Rock/Reggae/Folk" band in 1993, but for years the master tape of the sessions in the studio have been missing, and finally we found it, and a way to transfer the masters.. so here it is:...  the artwork is also included in archive, but the art posted below is the right size for printing....

(OK updated notes.. ) when I first met Chris, I was given a demo tape where Paul Horn and Miles Black were backing him up.. basically, he was looking for someone who could play both Paul's flute and Miles's piano, together.. Because I arpeggiate, even when soloing, I had a full sound, but every chance I got, I did Duane Eddy.. Perhaps you cxannot hear it so mich on theis track, but I also was entranced by the echo laden  vocals of some obscure "New Age " tape, A female singer, which I tried to blend with Duale Eddy's low string funk..
There's a hint of it in "Wishing Well"

, but as I add other tracks from the (amazingly productive) 'Catch' studio sessions, you will hear much more..\

Why no places for New Orleaners to go for an emergency?

Unlike before, there aint gonna be no place for people to gather, no superdome, no airport, no nowhere.. so just where are all the destitute, and stranded to go?

I saw a lot of firsthand films about just how nasty Katrina was, and despite the problems, there's a lot of folks alive now that would NOT be without those places of last resort.. so.. are the local authorities F***ing INSANE?..
I do not get it....

Hi Y'all.. Anyone know something about hurricanes?

Hi.. where I live we used to get winds of 80 to 120 Miles per hour, all the time through winter..
I can't tell you how many winteres the power was out for days and days.. we call them "High Gales"..but in the southern USA states, they call them "tropical storms, when they're 30 to 50 MPH, and "hurricanes when they're 80 MPH or higher (I'm not sure of the number).. is there a difference somehow in the storms? I know I saw clips of Katrina on video, and watching it pull roofs off at it's worst it was something fierce, but these were winds of 200 MPH.. At the worst with our high gales a bunch of houses get ruined, and all the trees are knocked over.. Is there a difference inb the way they blow, or something?..
 We used to LOVE tying ourselves to a tree, and watching the waves come over the seawall, when I lived in victoria..
 We have cold water though, not like the gulf..
Any experts out there? what makes a 120 MPH hurricane so more destructive that 120 MPH "high gale"?
